I moved to Bastrop from Dallas and had been driving to Austin for my highlights and haircuts. A friend mentioned Avery McKay to me and told me that I would be pleasantly suprised. I thought I would give it a try. The receptionist that answered was very accomodating and friendly. I was reffered to the owner, Kiley Ellsworth, by my friend. I was very pleased with Kiley. She did a great job, and was friendly, accomodating, and listened to my wants. The setting is beautiful, and the staff is alot of fun, and friendly. I would recommend any of the stylist as well, they all seem to be knowledgable. Coming from a metro area, I would highly recommend Avery McKay!

Going to the spa is always a 'treat'. But my 'treat' to Avery Mckay Salon and Spa was superb! The shop is super sharp and the staff was outstanding! Thanks for a GREAT, relaxing, fun, day ladies!

I found my new salon home and stylist. I'm new to the area and was tired of the "super" cuts. I called 3 salons and picked this one based on phone pleasantries. The others were not rude, just not pleasant. Stylist Susan R was so nice, offered suggestions for color and hair style. No pressure whatsoever to buy anything, just mentioned it. There was a wonderful scalp massage during the shampoo and she really took her time with my hair. She was interrupted for a waxing appointment but came back and finished out my style, even doing some more cutting after the style to make it "just right". It was the best Saturday I've had in a long time. $35 got me a shampoo/cut/style (blowdry and flatiron). They also have a full service spa - waxing, massage, facials, etc. Nice place!
