Established in 1987, the Bartlett Fire Protection District provides fire, rescue, hazardous materials and emergency medical services to citizens. It operates a fire prevention bureau that inspects and examines emergency and exit lights and fire suppression and detection systems. The district also handles instructor, inspector and fire officer certifications, arson investigation, vehicle extrication, hazardous materials and technical rescue. The Bartlett Fire Protection District has a public education team that conducts school visits, fire drills and safety awareness programs. It also supports Boy Scouts merit badge classes and fire extinguisher training. The district also operates a communication center that coordinates responses to fire and medical calls.
