- GlaucomaRegular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining eye health by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases, such as glaucoma, develop gradually without causing pain or vision loss, so patients may not notice that anything is wrong until significant and irreversible damage has been done. Early detection of eye diseases can allow for a choice of treatment options and reduced risk of permanent damage.
- OphthalmologyAmong our doctors are physicians with special training in general and pediatric ophthalmology. Some of the diverse services offered at Premier Eye Care include: state-of-the-art cataract/lens implant surgery including bladeless laser assisted cataract surgery, medical and laser treatment of glaucoma and some retinal diseases, laser vision correction-LASIK- for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery, pediatric and adult eye muscle surgery. We offer a full range of contact lens services and both our offices offer retail optical stores with a huge selection of frames and where we control the quality, in order to provide you with the highest level of care at a competitive price.
- Laser Eye SurgeryLaser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) is a safe, reliable and painless way to improve vision by changing the way light is bent, or refracted, as it passes through the cornea so that it properly focuses on the retina and allows objects to be seen clearly.
- CataractsA cataract is a clouding of the eye’s naturally clear lens. The lens focuses light rays on the retina at the back of the eye to produce a sharp image of what we see. When the lens becomes cloudy, the light rays cannot pass easily through it and the image becomes blurry.
- Cataract SurgeryRemoval of cataracts is crucial to prevent severe loss of vision and the debilitating effects that this common condition can cause. Recent innovations in cataract surgery now make it possible for cataracts to be removed with greater precision and accuracy.

- Eyelid SurgeryWhile there are many things that can be bothersome about one’s lids, the most common complaint is ‘droopy’ upper eyelids. Droopy upper lids can cause a heavy feeling to the eyes and can make them feel tired. They can also make reading difficult due to the lids wanting to close when we look down at a book or newspaper, and they can make one feel like they are always ‘in the dark,’ because with the lids hanging over the eyes, it seems like a baseball cap is always pulled down low over one’s eyes. These symptoms can be extremely frustrating to people with droopy lids. Cosmetically, droopy lids can make one feel like they look either old or sleepy.
- BlepharoplastyDermatochalasis is the more common eyelid problem, and it simply means excess skin which is hanging over what is an otherwise normal eyelid. Sometimes there is so much extra skin, it can hang all the way down to the lashes. This extra skin covers over one’s ‘eye shadow space’ – meaning in order to apply eye shadow, the person would first have to lift the extra skin out of the way, just to get to the lid underneath. The surgery to fix this condition is called upper lid Blepharoplasty. This entails removing the extra skin (and sometimes excess underlying fat) under local anesthesia in an operating room.
