General Info
About Dove Adoptions Dove Adoptions started with a single adoption from Romania in 1992. On a mission trip to Romania, Dove's founder, Orvalee Farris saw the struggle her friends were having as they tried to adopt from that country. The adoption process was complicated and the family was met with many setbacks. The more Orvalee learned about their efforts to adopt and their child, the more she felt led to help. Her endeavors paid off and this family was able to bring their little boy home. Working closely with a family and seeing them united with their child through adoption firsthand, Orvalee knew she wanted to devote her efforts to adoption. Dove Adoptions was founded out of this desire. Orvalee's vision of guiding families through the process with a personal touch remains the cornerstone of Dove Adoptions In the early 1990's Dove Adoptions was one of the first agencies to receive accreditation in Russia. Hundreds of children infants, toddlers, older children and sibling groups have been united with loving families since Dove began its relationship with Russia. In 2002, Dove was contacted by Ethiopia and went on to become one of the first US agencies licensed in Ethiopia. Dove's Ethiopia program has proven to be Dove's largest and most popular program. Dove's programs continue to grow, striving to meet the needs of children in countries around the world Dove is honored to be a part of projects which allow countless numbers of children to find hope for a better life which for many of them means uniting them with a family. The biggest reward of Dove's mission is transforming the emotional and exciting dream of expanding a family into the reality of parents holding their child for the first time.
