General Info
Dr. Husain joined Saint Agnes Hospital and Seton Imaging in 2008, and is currently Chairman of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging. He is also serving as the Director of Women?s Imaging for the St. Agnes Comprehensive Breast Center and is also the Director of Cardiovascular CT at St. Agnes. Dr. Husain has been a Clinical Instructor in Radiology at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, where he also completed his fellowship in Abdominal/ Body Imaging, and was also a fellow in the Cardiovascular CT Division there. He received additional training at the Cleveland Clinic in Cardiovascular Imaging. Previously, Dr. Husain finished his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at The State University of New York at Buffalo. He has lectured and served as a consulting physician internationally at tertiary care centers. Dr. Husain has a special interest in Cardiac CT Angiography (CTA), which is advancing cardiac care in its ability to non invasively diagnose heart disease accurately and rapidly. He is among a select group of physicians who has multiple Board Certifications documenting expertise in this field and has implemented the technology at St. Agnes. In collaboration with the Emergency Department and Division of Cardiology, he has established a new program that utilizes Cardiac CTA in the triage of select patients presenting to the expanded Chest Pain Unit in the ED at St. Agnes. Recently, Dr. Husain and his colleagues, working with the internationally known Peritoneal Surface Malignancy Center at St. Agnes, have developed a new imaging protocol utilizing MRI in the serial follow-up of patients treated for Peritoneal Surface Malignancies. The St. Agnes Peritoneal Metastasis MRI Protocol (PMP), with its greatest benefit of no radiation to the patient, is now being implemented at numerous academic institutions in the US.
