- Services: We are a full-service bicycle repair shop, though we do not do frame or metal repair work. Below you'll find some of our more common services and the associated price. We ask that you please confirm prices with us before committing to a repair. Please call or stop by for services not listed below. * Build Bicycle from Box (No Tune-Up) * Build Bicycle from Box + Tune-Up * Standard Tune-Up- Adjust Brakes & Gears, True Wheels, Lube chain, Grease Seat post, Safety Check, Light Cleaning * Bicycle Overhaul- Complete Tune Up with New Cables and Housing, Overhaul of Hubs, Headset & Bottom Bracket, and Drive Train Cleaning (New bearings not included.) * Drive Train Cleaning * Adjustments & overhauls will be itemized individually. * Bicycle Shipping- Moving? Vacationing with your bike? We box bikes and ship them. If you need us to ship your bike, we will need at least 3 business days between when the bike comes into the shop and when it needs to be shipped. Keep in mind that if this is a time sensitive thing, the earlier you make arrangements, the better. We recommend insuring the bicycle to its fullest value

Welcome to Light Street Cycles. We are locally owned and operated by the same woman for 19 years. We offer great bikes of all types. We offer sales, rental and repairs, although we do not do frame or metal repair work. We look forward to helping you in the bike selection process as well as assisting you with diagnosis and repairs. We carry many accessories and clothing.

hey there...the people at light street are great. especially the tall guy that does not work there. he seems to be real friendly and helpful. i believe he is a bike messenger in the city. he is always around there after work and is always cracking jokes to make us smile.

I was visiting, from out of town for the Kinetic Sculpture Race and needed to rent a bike for the day to ride along. I had hoped to rent a recumbent, since that's what I usually ride in California, but the bike store that rents those was too far away logistically, so the hotel I stayed in recommended Light Street. They were very friendly and helpful on the phone and assured me that I would be happy with the "comfort" bike I could use...and...I was! I took a short walk to the store from my hotel and found them easily. The bike was in great shape and I was able to maneuver around in Baltimore with ease, even though it's nothing like where I am accustomed to riding. The helmet was great and I was able to attach my tiara to it :), and they gave me a choice of combinations on the bike lock they encouraged me to rent. Penny even gave me a bicycle tour of the area so I would know where I needed to go the next day to meet up with the race start and guidance on how to get back to my hotel safely! She even arranged for the bike to be picked up so I wouldn't have to walk back from the shop and miss the end of the festivities! So, even with the dread I had of even riding a "normal" bike, suffice it to say, I was very happy with my experience! Thanks, Penny!

I went to Light Street Cycles while looking for a specific model bike that I could not find at other shops. Actually several other shops recommended Light Street based on the model I was looking for since it was a city type bike. I only visited once to purchase the bike and a couple of accessories but my experience was great. I delt with the owner which I would recommend. Can't comment on the shop service but the owner knew her bikes!
