on 9/10/06 a Sunday afternoon at approximately 3pm, my nephew and son went into store to purchase a soda. My son went in first and my nephew was told to wait outside until my son was done. They are both thirteen yrs old and I feel as though this was wrong, so I went into the store to find out why and was told that when my son was done purchasing the soda, then my nephew could go inside. Needless to say, I told my son to put the soda back and leave as well. Ther store was not crowded and I feel that on school days this may be appropriate, but definetly not the weekend or when schools are out. The staff member followed me out to my car stating that" this is the policy and it is on the door". I told him that I did'nt care what was on the door because their policy was wrong. The staff member stated that" we are not discriminating" and I said yes you are. I left and I feel as though this store's policy is discriminatory based on age. I will follow up with the south district's official.
