Ava High School is a part of the Ava R-1 Schools District. It offers various athletic programs, including softball, volleyball, football, cross country, cheerleading, dance, girl s and boy s basketball, baseball, track and golf. It also has various clubs, including anchoring, jazz, art, journalism, school band, key club, chamber choir, math and science, chess, mixed chorus, computer, Excel Pep, philanthropy, quiz bowl, FFA chapter, senior class, FFA greenhands, senior video, flags, Spanish, French, speech and drama, gifted, trend, guitar and votech clubs. The school s library has a collection of more than 9,000 books, daily and weekly newspapers, over 25 periodicals, reference materials, computer workstations, automated card catalogs, online databases and Internet access.
