University of Texas Athletics provides a wide range of sports activities and programs. The department recruits and retains student athletes and also maintains competitive schedules for its sporting teams. It provides various strength and conditioning training and sports medicine programs, including the Longhorn Personal Responsibility in Developing Excellence Program that includes career development, community service participation and public relations training.
