We have been with La Petite for 4 years now, having two children enrolled. Best daycare we've seen in the far South Austin area. The staff is kind, treats the kids well and are very involved. We've made personal relationships with a few of them, and had them over for our kids birthdays, dinners, etc., and all at our children's request. This speaks volumes about how our children feel about this place, and that's the most important indicator. One day our oldest was to be picked up for afterschool at local elementary when the public kindergarten teacher let him get on the wrong bus. We would have never known about it from the school, but the staff at La Petite notified us immediately, and orchestrated the search effort, kept us in the loop, helped find our child and brought him home safe, for which I'm eternally grateful to them. They care - they go the extra mile and take their jobs very seriously. There are activities and school basics taught as well. No more text room left..

This location is by far the best one in South Austin. Most of the teachers have worked here 5+ years as well as have their CDA's. The staff are friendly and nurturing towards all children. Even after a child moves up to another room the parent is still greeted with a smile and the child is still shown that they are cared about. They're not just forgotten. This school is extremely family orientated and parents are informed EVERYDAY upon arrival of their child's progress. The person above is obviously disgruntled.. but I assure you this place is AWESOME. When there are teachers or supervisors in the office they are WORKING and constantly planning for what's next. As far as child/teacher ratio... every class meets state guidelines. In fact, the supervisor often has management come in and out offering help where need be. Help that's not necessary but a sign of staff support. AND, their curriculum is wonderful. Have a tour and see for yourself! You and your child will be happy!

If I could give this daycare zero stars I would. The staff is rude to the children, unorganized, and workers always seem to be hanging out in the front office chatting with the director and doing generally as little as possible. I have witnessed classrooms that had many children over the number that is allowed by state minimum standards and my child came home with bruises that the staff were unable to explain. I have heard the teachers bad-mouthing parents behind their backs and being cold and rude to the children for no reason when they think no one is watching them. AVOID this place at all costs. The reason why they always have openings is ONLY because of their horrible business practices. They REALLY need to get a clue and start acting like professionals. Maybe hire some teachers that actually enjoy children because none of the ones I saw there ever seemed to be happy with their jobs. This daycare might have a decent location and building but the staff is the problem. BEWARE
