Lewis G. King, M.D., is from Houston, Texas. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his residencies in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. During both residencies, Dr. King was chosen chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Boston's Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 1992. Dr. King is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Cardiology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. King specializes in adult and pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery including heart transplantation, homograft valve replacement, mitral valve repair, Ross Procedure, minimally invasive surgery, and off-pump coronary bypass surgery. He is a member of Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, Aldo Castenada Society, J.B. Aust Surgical Society, Texas Medical Association, Travis County Medical Association and Texas Transplant Society.
