Cook Elementary School offers various academic programs and practices, such as cooperative learning, a learning lab, vertical team planning, and gifted and talented classes. Founded in 1974, the school offers various bilingual and English as a Second language classes to students in prekindergarten through grade five. Its parent-teacher association organizes various fundraising events and extracurricular activities for parents, teachers and students. Cook Elementary School s curriculum includes mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts and physical education. The school s library includes volumes of textbooks, reference materials, storybooks and picture dictionaries. Cook Elementary School is governed by the Austin Independent School District.
