General Info
Sierra Family Services is a 501 (c) not for profit community based organization. We are dedicated to providing affordable, confidential, and professional counseling to our community and neighbors in and beyond Placer County. Sierra Family Services is a State Certified Drug and Alcohol Treatment Provider and meets or exceeds standards of care established by the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, and Title 22 Drug Medi-Cal Standards. We are a Short Doyle provider and Drug Medi-Cal provider. Sierra Family Services also provides professional and affordable mental health counseling. For many years we had been a major community provider for substance abuse services. Over the past several years we have grown into a more diverse organization and now have a history of providing quality mental health counseling as well. We have affiliations with several colleges and universities who value our services as a practicum sight for students. Our staff therapists are Master level clinicians either licensed or registered interns preparing for their licensure exams. We are a Certified Drug Free Workplace. We enjoy membership in the National Association of Drug Court Programs. Sierra Family Services subscribes to the highest ethical standards of practice. We maintain affiliation with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the National Association of Social Workers, and the California Society of Clinical Social Workers. We also maintain requirements for Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors. Cooperative relationships are essential. We value our long standing relationships with several human services agencies in Placer County. For many years SFS has enjoyed cooperative partnership with Placer County's Adult and Children's Systems of Care, local schools, and a host of human service agencies. We seek to apply innovative as well as traditional approaches to solve problems and address needs of people in Placer County and surrounding areas. What we keep in mind as we go about our day. Our approach to working with clients is one of respect, dignity and the recognition of the value in each and every person we see. Our staff shares the values of the agency. Values like integrity, honesty, ethics, professionalism, and humility. We embrace and celebrate cultures that are not our own and respect beliefs that we might not share. We do this while holding strong limits on what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior, statements and actions that affect others in our care. We do this to create the safest environment in which to openly express thoughts and feelings in a therapeutic manner. Our approach to our work is simple after all. We are here for you. We will work to provide services that you can use to learn and grow. Services that are comprised of many theoretical orientations, many schools of psychology, social work and counseling.
