- Eye and Vision Exams - Yearly or bi-yearly eye and vision exams are recommended for most individuals so we can identify any problems as early as possible. We will check for eye diseases, evaluate how well your eyes are functioning (both individually and as a team), and test your vision by having you read from an eye chart. If your vision is limited by a refractive error, we can write an accurate prescription for corrective lenses such as glasses or contact lenses. Contact Lens Exams - If you would like to correct your refractive error (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism or presbyopia) with contact lenses, our Sandy Springs optometrists will perform a contact lens exam as well as the standard vision exam. Techniques such as corneal mapping allow us to create perfectly form-fitting contacts that correct your vision as precisely as possible. Contact Lenses - Today's contact lenses come in a variety of forms and designs to suit different corrective and lifestyle needs. Our optometry center can fit you with disposable, soft or gas permeable lenses, including specialized lenses suitable for dry eyes, keratoconus and other disorders. Sunglasses - You must protect your eyes from UV rays if you want to reduce your risks of cataracts, macular degeneration, and aging of the skin around the eyes, eyelid cancer as well as acute eye irritation. We offer a wide range of prescription sunglass options and styles that provide full protection against the ultraviolet spectrum. Corneal Refractive Therapy (Ortho-K) - Corneal refractive therapy, also known as orthokeratology or Ortho-K, enables people with myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism or presbyopia to enjoy corrected vision without glasses, contacts or surgery. A special pair of rigid contacts, when worn overnight, reshapes your corneas temporarily to provide days of clear vision at a time. Use them as often as needed to ensure clear, eyewear-free vision every day. Diagnosis and Treatment of Eye Diseases - Our optometrists at Eye 1st Vision Center can diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and disorders. These include diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataracts, eye infections, dry eye or computer vision syndrome and other issues. Treatment may include medications to slow or arrest progressive eye damage, surgery (via referral to an eye surgeon), lifestyle or work habit changes, dietary adjustments and control of underlying diseases such as hypertension or diabetes.
