General Info
Dr. Sara Mobasseri earned her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. She completed her internal medicine internship, residency and cardiology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Mobasseri is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and is certified in nuclear cardiology and adult echocardiography. Dr. Mobasseri has held various academic roles throughout her career. She was an associate professor of medicine at Northwestern University and was involved with starting a women's heart program at Northwestern and Evanston Hospitals in Chicago. Dr. Mobasseri was also a clinical professor of medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and served as the clinical fellowship site director and director of cardiology and non-invasive imaging at Graduate Hospital, also located in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Mobasseri was in practice with Cardiology of Georgia, one of the three groups that joined together to become Piedmont Heart Institute. She currently leads the women's heart program at Piedmont Heart and also serves as the associate director of echocardiology. Dr. Mobasseri has written multiple publications and abstracts on heart disease in women and on cardiac imaging in women. She also gives lectures for the American Heart Associations Go Red for Women Campaign as well as for medical grand rounds at Piedmont Hospital.
