Sandtown Middle School serves more than 1,500 students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as English, science, social studies, mathematics and language arts. The school offers a variety of extracurricular programs in theater arts, music, chorus, dance, orchestra, band, and health and physical education. In addition, the school conducts sessions in computer literacy, diversified technology, and family and consumer science. The school also offers foreign language sessions in Spanish and French. The school operates several student organizations, including a student government and drama, chess, robotics and Beta clubs. Sandtown Middle School offers various sports activities, including volleyball, soccer, basketball, tennis, and track and field. Located in Atlanta, it is a part of Fulton County Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
