Open Hand is a nonprofit organization and one of the largest providers of home-delivered meals in the United States. The organization helps individuals to prevent and manage chronic diseases through the Comprehensive Nutrition Care program. The program provides home-delivered meals combined with nutrition education for homebound seniors and individuals suffering from chronic and terminal illnesses. It specializes in various programs that help to eliminate disability and untimely death due to nutrition-sensitive chronic diseases. Open Hand s registered dietitians plan balanced menus and select products according to the level of nutrition care determined for each client s needs.
