- Child Custody and VisitationJoshua Huckaby is the managing attorney for O’Kelley & Sorohan’s litigation, business and family law practices. Since joining the firm in 2004, Mr. Huckaby has handled several divorces, child custody disputes, and other family law matters. In addition to his family law practice, Mr. Huckaby manages the firm’s default services litigation practice. Mr. Huckaby is an active member of the Gwinnett County Bar Association, where he currently serves as Secretary.
- Criminal DefenseJohn Royer is a closing attorney in the Gainesville office of O’Kelley & Sorohan. Before joining O’Kelley & Sorohan, Mr. Royer had a solo practice that included the areas of family law, estate planning, wills and trusts, corporate law, and worker’s compensation. In addition, as a member of the Southern District of Georgia, Mr. Royer practiced as a criminal defense attorney. Mr. Royer is a native of South Georgia, and practiced in his hometown of Douglas prior to joining O’Kelley & Sorohan.
- FraudMs. Knapp is a native Spanish speaker with family roots in Argentina. She has served as a mentor for the State Bar of Georgia and is an active member of Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (“NAHREP”), the Georgia Real Estate Fraud Prevention and Awareness Coalition (“GREFPAC”) and the Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorney’s Association (“GRECAA”).
- Corporate LawAs a former associate at a large Atlanta-area law firm, an insurance defense firm and Fulton County Superior Court law clerk, Amy also has experience in civil and criminal litigation at the trial and appellate level, corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions and healthcare law. For over ten years, Amy has taught Advanced Legal Writing as an adjunct faculty member at Georgia State University College of Law.

Carolyn graduated from Alfred University in 2001, where she majored in Political Science with focus in both Public Administration and Psychology. After serving in the Army, Carolyn attended West Michigan Thomas Cooley Law School where she completed her Juris doctorate Degree. After passing the bar exam, Carolyn became a solo practitioner while teaching Business Law at Miami Dade College. Today she is excited to be a member of O’Kelly & Sorohan’s Litigation team.

- Real Estate LitigationHannah Harris grew up in Woodstock, Georgia. Hannah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies and a Minor in Spanish from Valdosta State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2020. Hannah went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law, graduating Cum Laude in 2023. In law school, she was the president of the Real Estate Law Society. Hannah was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2023.
- Real Estate TransactionsMr. O’Kelley concentrates his practice on residential real estate transactions. Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. O’Kelley worked in corporate banking with Wachovia Bank, N.A., as a merchant and investment banker with Power Capital Corporation, and as an international tax consultant with Meridian VAT Reclaim, Inc. Mr. O’Kelley has an extensive background in construction and final purchase residential real estate transactions as well as in strategic business development, hands on operational management, marketing, legal analysis, business/legal negotiations, deal making and other complex corporate matters. Additionally, Mr. O’Kelley has been involved in and on boards of several organizations in the real estate industry. Mr. O’Kelley received his B.B.A. in Finance in 1983 from the University of Georgia. In 1988, he received his M.B.A. in Finance from Emory University. He received his J.D. degree in 1997 from Georgia State University. He is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia.

- Landlord-Tenant DisputesAndrea Hibbert was born in Bronx, New York. Andrea graduated from New York University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Metropolitan Studies. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall School of Law in 2012. While in Law School, Andrea was appointed Dean’s Fellow for first-year students, earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Pre-Trial Practice & Procedure, and achieved honors in Criminal Law, Professional Responsibility, Evidence I, and Pre-Trial Practice & Procedure. Andrea was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia Bar in 2013. Hibbert is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation and Default Services Department. She focuses her practice on real estate and commercial litigation, including commercial and residential landlord-tenant law.

Mr. Erickson remained with Jackson & Tyler until 2004, and then joined Ganek, Wright & Dobkin, P.C. While at that firm, Mr. Erickson oversaw the firm’s estate planning practice, specializing in wills, trusts, living wills and probate matters. Mr. Erickson then joined O’Kelley & Sorohan where he also oversees the firm’s estate planning practice and works in the firm’s Litigation Department.
- TrustsPhilip O. Erickson heads the Wills, Trusts & Estates practice out of the firm’s main office. The firm advises individuals and families about wills and trusts, powers of attorney, and incapacity planning. Our attorneys can prepare legal documents for you that outline your wishes regarding disposition of your property (real and personal), care of your minor children, distributions of your assets, and nomination of trusted persons to handle your estate and/or to manage your financial and healthcare interests should you be unable to speak for yourself.
