Incorporated in 1919, The American Legion is one of the largest veterans service organizations in the United States specializing in mentoring and sponsoring youth programs. It advocates patriotism and honor, promotes national security and offers devotion to fellow service members and veterans. The American Legion offers a number of local programs and activities, including legion racing, legislative, shooting sports, child welfare foundation as well as scouting, among others. It serves through financial support network, national security and temporary financial assistance.
