Established in 1969, Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) is the primary nonprofit organization addressing poverty, hunger, homelessness and access to health care for the under-served in Buncombe County. Located in Asheville, N.C., it operates the Crisis Center to provide assistance with nourishing food, and financial assistance for rent and mortgages, utilities and fuel, and medications. The ministry plays a significant role in meeting emergency assistance needs for families. Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM) is a cooperative ministry of more than 260 churches.
