John R. Briggs Elementary School, located in Ashburnham, Mass., is a public school that offers educational and extracurricular programs to students in grades kindergarten through five. The school has more than 500 students it includes the Title 1 reading recovery program and offers tutoring and summer school programs. The institution is affiliated with the Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District. The school district has a student enrollment of more than 2,500 students. It offers students a variety of sports activities, including football, ice hockey, indoor track, basketball, cheerleading and wrestling. The school district has also instituted a program to provide complimentary passes for senior residents of the towns of Ashburnham and Westminster, Mass., of ages 62 years and older to attend various events and functions at any of the schools that are sponsored by it.
