General Info

Megan McRae, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, adjustment/transition issues, bipolar disorder and other disorders. Dr. McRae is also trained in the use of psychological and neuropsychological testing to help guide the diagnostic process and development of treatment recommendations. Dr. McRae recognizes the importance of communication with other professionals in the mental health and medical fields as appropriate to help ensure effective treatment and communications to best meet her client's needs. Dr. McRae earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, with a focus on child and adolescent psychology. Prior to Sterling Behavioral Health Services, Dr. McRae worked as an intern at St. Anthony's Point, where she provided mobile therapy and behavioral specialist consultant services in the Behavioral Rehabilitation Services for children and adolescent clients, working in the school and home environments to assess challenges and provide therapeutic interventions aimed at behavioral modification and management. She also provided individual, couple, and family therapy for children, adolescent, and adult clients, as well as conducted psychological assessments to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. McRae has also worked in Applied Behavioral Analysis, providing extensive in home treatment aimed at coaching through homework tasks, practicing and expanding expressive and receptive language skills, improving socialization skills, and emotional expression and regulation. Dr. McRae uses an eclectic approach and attempts to modify her treatment approach to fit the needs of each individual client, though her training and background has centered on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
