Established in 1999, In-Q-Tel is a private, nonprofit investment firm that works to identify, adapt and deliver innovative technology solutions and services to the Central Intelligence Agency and the U.S. Intelligence Community. It focuses on strategic investment and invests in companies to build businesses into reliable providers of technology solutions. In-Q-Tel partners with technology entrepreneurs, emerging companies, researchers and venture capitalists. The company concentrates on several commercial technology areas, including application software and analytics; bio, nano and chemical technologies; communications and infrastructure; digital identity and security; and embedded systems and power. It has engaged with more than 100 companies and delivered over 140 technology solutions to the intelligence community. In-Q-Tel has a network of more than 200 venture capital firms and over 100 laboratories and research organizations in the United States and Canada. The company is located in Arlington, Va.
