Located in Arlington, Texas, Sam Houston High School has several academic departments, such as career and technology, English, fine arts, foreign languages, mathematics, science, senior skills and social studies. The high school promotes physical development of students by organizing a variety of sports activities that include baseball, cheerleading, football, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, golf, soccer and track. The school also has a guidance and counseling department that provides basic assistance to students regarding scholarships, career planning, and social and mental problems. Sam Houston High School is affiliated with the Arlington Independent School District, which governs numerous elementary, junior high and high schools.
