- Family PracticeShe graduated North Texas State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. She earned her Medical degree in 1981 from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Carter completed her residency in Family Medicine in 1984 at John Peter Smith Hospital where she currently has a practice in Family Medicine and Geriatrics. She also has a Board in Medical Acupuncture and Quality Assurance/Utilization Review.
