Southern Oklahoma Blood Institute is one of the locations managed by Oklahoma Blood Institute, which is one of the largest, nonprofit regional blood centers in the United States. The parent organization provides transfusion blood products and clinical services to more than 150 medical facilities in Oklahoma and Texas. Established in 1977, Oklahoma Blood Institute operates Texas Blood Institute, as well as provides nearly 220,000 units of blood annually. The parent organization also offers educational presentations to elementary school children and physicians. It serves several hospitals, including the Fairview Regional Medical Center, Northwest Surgical Hospital and Oklahoma Spine Hospital. Oklahoma Blood Institute additionally offers testing and health screening services.
