My mother is in the moderate to late stages of Alzheimer's. We wanted to find a place for her in the Appleton, Wisconsin area as I just retired and could see her each day if we brought her to the area in which I reside. We checked out 15 places from Oshkosh to Appleton. Heartwood Homes was on of our top two. Jason, the owner of Heartwood Homes and a nurse, impressed the facility my mom had been at in Waukesha, Wi. She was in an extremely high-quality facility there. The nurses and staff told me that Jason was one of the most thorough people they had ever worked with when moving a resident. He read all of her info thoroughly and called them often to ask questions so the move could go as easily as possible for my mother. Shelby, who works closely with Jason, was also very kind and caring. In the end, we chose another facility,because it reminded us of the place where Mom had lived in Waukesha.
