Appleton Recreation Department is one of the city departments of Wisconsin. Located in Appleton, Wis., the department offers more than 100 year-round programs and services for children, young adults and senior citizens. Its programs include summer camps, teen trip adventures, sports mania, team sports instructions, swimming activities, adult fitness, hiking and sport programs, and adult and family trips. The department also hosts Halloween parade, Easter egg hunt, fall flag football, fall and winter basketball league, arts and crafts competitions, and cooking and baby-sitting courses. Additionally, it oversees the maintenance of more than 500-acres of property, including parks, playgrounds, recreational spots, and athletic fields.
