Established in 1913, the Apalachin Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical response services to residents. The department employs more than 80 volunteers. It operates a fleet of rescue and brush trucks, ambulances and utility pickup vans. The Apalachin Fire Department maintains a communication center that offers emergency fire, police and medical response services. The department supports an apprentice firefighter program. It maintains a location in Apalachin, N.Y.
