General Info
The Japanese Americans’ Care Fund, located in Annandale, Virginia, was founded in October 1999 and approved as a non-profit organization in 2000. The idea of organizing the Care Fund came from our experience in caring for a Japanese woman who was dying of lung cancer and could not get help from other sources. It made us realize the importance of an organization that provides support and services for such people.Regardless of age or how long you have lived in the United States, it may still be more comfortable to handle everyday issues in Japanese. In order to meet such needs, the Care Fund maintains a Japanese language telephone help line and assists callers by providing information and various services as necessary. As a long-term vision, the Care Fund aims to build a community center and a retirement home for the Japanese and Japanese-Americans in the area. The Care Fund provides various services and programs for the community. Currently, the following services and educational/cultural programs are available.
