General Info

A Michigan native, Sara Turner, PA-C, completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a graduate degree in Physician Assistant Studies from The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. After completing her studies, Sara returned to her hometown of Ann Arbor and was recruited to join the Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan, where she received specialized training in oculoplastic surgery and worked as an independent provider and surgical assistant. Sara has presented at national conferences on the role of PAs in ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. Sara has a calming demeanor and is exceptionally detail oriented and patient focused. Her areas of expertise include eyelid malposition, tearing, thyroid eye disease, eyelid lesions, and the management of dry eyes and blepharitis. Sara and Dr. Kahana work as a team, and you will oftentimes see them running clinics in parallel, consulting one another, and working together in the operating room.
