Hallett Materials is a sand and gravel company operating from more than 40 aggregate deposits in central and western Iowa. It offers pea, oversized and regular gravel; railroad ballast; boulders; compost; dirt; and concrete and golf sand. Hallett Materials was founded in 1918 as Hallett Construction Company. It became Hallett Materials in 1986 when it became part of the Rasmussen Group. Hallett Materials became part of the Oldcastle family of companies in 2001. Its parent company, Oldcastle Materials, is a division of CRH. Hallett Materials, Nuckolls Concrete Services and American Concrete Products form the Iowa Group of Oldcastle Materials. Based in Washington, D.C., Oldcastle Materials is one of the largest asphalt and ready-mix concrete producers in the United States.
