Established in 1977, the Andover Fire Department responds to fire and emergency calls and operates more than two fire stations. It is comprised of over 50 volunteer firefighters, a fire chief, full-time fire marshal and secretary. The department conducts fire investigations and station tours, as well as offers fire prevention education. The Andover Fire Department also undertakes fire and foster care inspections, and reviews plans of new and remodeled buildings. It additionally handles burning and recreational fire permits. The department is located in Andover, Minn.
