To be totally fair; Northlake COULD be a nice place to live but it isn't. I suppose I expected more than it can give. Old, dirty, run down and in ill-repair. I wish I'd looked a bit more before buying. The price was right but the value was not. I too looked forward to moving here to live on the lake and enjoying a boat. The vandalism is so bad till that dream too is spoiled. There doesn't seem to be enough of a give a darn attitude to change anything. Funny thing, every problem here could be solved. It's a ship without a captain.

It hasn't taken me very long to understand that Northlake is a "has been". From the physical condition of the bldgs. to the boat dock's shoddy condition; it appears that someone or some group just allowed it to die a premature death. To say I made a mistake would be a huge understatement. There is no pride in the neighborhood shown by the residents; from trash being dumped out of cars to empty cigarette packs and beer cans thrown all around the entrance; it is ugly. The units are all in ill repair. Dryer vents are all out of order; unless, of course, you "happen" to live in certain bldgs. Spare yourself the pain. Micro fibers emitted from the "temporary" filters being used are LETHAL!

Northlake, itself, is a nice place; the biggest problem is the lack of neighborhood pride displayed by some of the residents. There are real issues with some of the (most) of the bldgs. such as dryer ventilation being broken and temporary indoor vents used. Very bad for those with respiratory problems. Renters are left unchecked to do as they please. Trash is left pretty much anywhere someone wants to drop it. It seems that owners have abdicated THEIR responsibility by allowing the BOARD to do as it will. Boat slips and the condition of the entire area is horrible! Steps are rotten and overall makes the experience of "lake living " a joke. No one is really in charge of anything; just ask! They are always "working on something" but never getting it done. I moved here with the dream of living on the lake and having a boatslip; forget that. Time to move again; really too bad. Someone left this "cake out in the rain" and , now, it is a bit late.

Very private community near interstate 85. Close to shopping and restaurants. Located on Lake Hartwell. Best value in area for condos.
