Anderson School District 5 offers classes in grades kindergarten through 12, and located in Anderson, S.C. The district administers more than 15 schools, and serves over 11,000 students. Its curriculum includes reading, language, literature, mathematics, science, social studies, computer technology, fine and performing arts, and physical education. The district provides special education programs, such as adult education, and organizes various classes for underprivileged and disabled students. Anderson School District s sports activity include softball, football, basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, golf, wrestling, tennis, cross-country, swimming, and track and field, and has a cheerleading team. It organizes health care services, community services, fund-raising programs and carnivals. The district has more than 80 state-owned buses in operation and provides transportation to over 6,000 students every day. Anderson School District also provides meals services. Its other campuses include Anderson Adult and Community Education Center, Hanna-Westside Extension Campus.
