General Info

Susan Patterson is a highly patient-focused professional with broad and rich experience as a certified nurse midwife, registered nurse and charge nurse. She is trained to help women give birth and provide care from the beginning of pregnancy to six weeks after birth and also provides gynecological care. Midwives believe in allowing women to make informed decisions regarding their pregnancies. An obstetrician practices with the midwife to collaborate if a need develops. Susan earned her master's degree (nurse-midwifery) from the University of Illinois at Chicago and two bachelor's degrees (nursing and biology) from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. She has received the American Academy of Nurse-Midwives Foundation Leadership Award and the Governor General's Medal of Excellence in Nursing.
