- Pediatric CareLaTouche Pediatrics, LLC is a private provider of pediatric and adolescent medicine that was established with the aim of providing excellent health care in a warm and professional setting.
- Primary CareTo establish care with us, simply call our office to set up an appointment. We’ll ask for you and your child’s demographic information and ask who you would like to be your child’s primary provider. We make it a priority to schedule your child with their Primary Care Provider or someone on their team.
- Ear Infections
- Emergency CareIn order to provide the best care, we need to be kept informed about your child’s medical needs and health status. Please make sure to provide us with accurate family medical history information. Also, if your child was seen anywhere other than our clinic (urgent care, ER, hospitalization, or specialist) be sure that you ask them to send us a report so that we can be kept informed. Without all this key information, we may miss something!
- ImmunizationsWe offer Annual Physicals, or Health Maintenance Visits for all ages, from newborns through young adults. These visits allow us to take regular updates on your child’s health and developmental progress. We will take basic measurements, conduct a head-to-toe examination, update charts and immunizations, and answer any medical questions you may have about your child.
- GlaucomaNewborn – All babies should have a vision screening to uncover potential infections, defects, cataracts, or glaucoma. (This eye screening is done after giving birth, and before leaving the hospital.)
- Cataracts
- Cervical CancerThe Gardasil, Menactra, Bexsero, and flu vaccines are recommended vaccines but are not currently required by Alaska school. Gardasil is a series of two or three shots that protect against the HPV virus. This is a sexually transmitted virus that can cause cervical cancer in women, mouth and throat cancer in men, and genital warts in both. The Menactra and Bexsero vaccines protect against a bacterium called meningococcus, which can cause rapidly progressive infections of the bloodstream and brain. This illness is more common in college dorms and military barracks. Finally, we recommend an annual flu shot for all our patients. The flu typically causes a week to 10 days of fever, cough, sore throat, body aches and upset stomach. Every year thousands of Americans die from complications of the flu such as pneumonia.
