Central Middle School of Science is an educational institution that offers a range of academic and recreational activities. The school serves more than 550 students in grades seven and eight. It provides classes in marine biology, aviation science, art, French and geology. The school organizes various athletic activities, such as cross-country, volleyball, wrestling, and track and field. It maintains a library that stocks books and reference materials. The school additionally publishes a newsletter and organizes fundraising events. It has partnerships with the University of Alaska, and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Central Middle School of Science is a part of the Anchorage School District, which operates vehicle maintenance, community services, risk management and human resources departments.
