Anacortes Chinese School is a Chinese language school in downtown Anacortes. We offer small-group classes and individualized tutoring in Mandarin Chinese to learners of all ages and levels. Our courses are specially designed to meet the needs of students at different ages, levels, and goals. Our goal is to enable all learners to achieve their Chinese-language learning goals, whether they want to master Chinese, pass a proficiency exam, learn the art of calligraphy, or simply learn enough spoken Chinese to travel. Our courses range from short-term classes and culture camps for young learners to comprehensive courses for adults, and everywhere in between. Accordingly, we use textbooks and learning materials that are level appropriate, age appropriate, and that are aligned with the learning outcomes and our pedagogical approach, enabling students to use Chinese from the very first day of class. Our one-on-one tutoring services are completely personalized, with teaching plans and learning resources specially designed and selected to meet the student’s needs. Individualized tutoring offers flexibility, tailored courses and schedules, and personalized feedback. Individual tutoring may commence at any time. All of our classes and tutoring sessions are led by Lina Shen, a native Chinese speaker from Kunming, China. Lina is an experienced Chinese teacher and holds senior-level professional certification in teaching Chinese to Foreign Learners. Lina’s undergraduate degree is in English from Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, where she also achieved advanced certification in Putonghua (standard Mandarin Chinese) pronunciation, accuracy, and expression. We offer discounts to families enrolling more than one student, and we automatically reserve registration spots for enrolled students so that they may continue to the next study level and maintain their Chinese language progress.
