I went to the High Horse with my family recently, and I had a pleasant experience. I like the structure of the menu; it's only two pages so you won't get lost; a BIG plus for me. The food was very good. They make a lot of their own things, i.e. their sweet potato fries. They cut them up fresh and fry them fresh, unlike other restaurants. I love the atmosphere as well. It's darker than other restaurants, but where the food is there is ample lighting. Some of the food is expensive but then again you don't have to get EVERYTHING on the menu. The staff there is very friendly and they converse with the customers which I liked very much. The food was delicious. The presentation of the food caught my attention. It was very well presented. The best part was the dessert; Ice cream with chocolate-covered bacon! Don't judge it until you try it. I was pleasantly surprised. They have a bar upstairs which was very nice. Overall the restaurant is a great one, in the heart of Amherst. :)

The food and atmosphere is good, the bar is inviting and the food is good. I will continue to visit the High Horse Amherst. If you are looking for a nice bar or restaurant to enjoy a nice evening, this is the place to go too.

We love it! Their Libertine Porter is awesome and anyone who is Canadian will love their Poutine! Good times

This place is awful, I mean do not waste your money here. The food was bad. The service was bad and when I complained, the manager told me I was being too hard to please. There are many great places to eat in Amherst. I hope I save someone time and money!
