Dr. Katz has looked after both my and my daughter's dogs for many years and I can think of no more intelligent, remarkably well informed and most of all kind doctor I have ever had the pleasure to know. If only medical doctors had his level of humanity, intelligence, and kindness, we would have a much better health system!!!! In any emergency Dr. Katz is there. He has even come to my house in the very early hours of the morning when I was unable to take my very sick dog to his place. He is a remarkable diagnostician and very much in demand--busy from early morning to night and understandably so. His staff is very efficient and helpful and does not get cranky when a distressed owner of a pet bugs them to find out how the animal is doing. We are so fortunate to have this brilliant doctor in the Valley.

I have known Dr.Katz my entire life and my family has gone to him for all our pet needs for alongtime but unfortunately, when recently getting a puppy and going back to see him I was very dissappointed. He hasa great care for the animals but is extremely disorganized. I brought my dog for his follow up appt. and they said they had no record of me ever having a first appointment, which was impossible because I have a letter from them for the follow up. He also "forgot" to give my dog heartworm medicine which he is now being treated for correctly by someone else. I think he has a great care for animals but has lost his touch as a proffesssional. I will be switching my permanent vet immediatly

Michael Katz has been our family vet for 30 years. He is intelligent, thorough and caring. I can not imagine that anyone could find his practice less than 5 stars. It is clean, cheerful and well-appointed. Dr. Katz's staff is busy but always caring and considerate and Dr. Katz's veterinary techniques are cutting edge. We feel fortunate that Dr. Katz has cared for our 25 dogs over the years. I have praised Dr. Katz and his staff to my friends and colleagues with the highest of recommendations.

I was shocked to see this review. MY dogs have been patients of MIchael Katz since 1973 or 4. He has been the most careful and caring vet one could imagine. He refuses to give up on an animal while at the same time paying attention to the dog's age and general condition when diagnosing and deciding on treatment. I have faced some of painful decisions with my animals and find Dr. Katz a good sounding board for my concerns and a wonderful support. As to his offices they are very pet friendly and the staff has always been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The office always seems to be open and welcoming. AND on the several occasions when we have had an emergency it has been a haven of help and comfort. I don't doubt that there is not always a person on the desk they are behind the scenes taking care of the animals. RIng the bell they come asap.
I have talked with Dr. Katz on the phone many times and found him to be a wonderful veterinarian. He has always been caring, insightful, and extremely helpful during the times I have reached him as the "vet on duty" for emergency calls. I was really distressed when I visited the actual animal hospital with the object in mind of making an appointment and switching my pets over to him. My first impression was, "This place STINKS!" Literally. The whole office was kind of dirty and smelly from the animals -- fur everywhere, urine stains on the ground, etc.. Having been in and even worked in other vet offices before, I know that is unnecessary. I also had to wait a long time for somebody to come out and talk to me, and the person who did come out was pretty disorganized and unhelpful. So while I would still call Dr. Katz in a heartbeat an emergency, as it stands I would not want to go there for regular checkups or planned surgery.
