GROUND UNITS BJJ is a welcoming Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy in Westfield, MA. Our training is focused on the ground aspect of personal safety. We do this as it is said that 95% of fights or attacks ultimately get to the ground. Here, we are at home... I am a shark, the ground is my ocean, and most people can't even swim. Rickson Gracie (son of Helio Gracie - founder of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). Not everyone that trains BJJ is concerned about being attacked. BJJ is also trained for the fitness aspect of it. It is trained for the mental and physical satisfaction that it brings to its practitioners. We offer a great team atmosphere where we challenge, help and encourage each other to achieve whatever it is that brought us in to train - Fun, Personal Safety, Competition, Sport or Fitness.
