Wow ~ Excellent Food!!! From start to finish our meal was fantastic! The best part was the freshness of the "Homegrown" tomatoes and spices. Note: Free Parking after 6:00 PM both on the street and in the Municipal lot nearby. We will definitely be back!:-) ~CD

Happily we give a positive review. My husband I had dinner tonight after the fun movie "Julia & Julie" at Dettera. We had a lovely, accommodating hostess Brooke seat us upstairs. The decor is upscale, refreshing; a pleasing departure from the ho hum traditional; a sense center city. Outside dining area appealing, inviting, pleasant and bright. Our waiter, Jessie, was experienced, knew the menu, professional and provided excellent service. Our appetizer was the endamame dumpling with truffle sauce - superb; entrees lobster ravioli (surely is a challenge to beat) and seared scallops . Acoustics a little noisy; food somewhat expensive, but excellent, service was terrific! For us definite return! Welcome to Ambler. OBTW we really are not related to anyone, we just so enjoyed our meal!

I ate at Dettera the other night and my wife and I enjoyed it very much. Menu is sophisticated for Ambler, very good. WIne selection was good, they are growing and are a welcome addition to the dining scene in Ambler. The building itself is beautiful and space is very comfortable. They seem pretty busy and may be experiencing growing pains.....

my husband and i went to the restaurant for dinner one night and we wanted to talk to the manager to tell him how nice the place looked. he came over for about a second and was very rude and acted like he did not care about the customers at all. it would have been better if he didn't come over at all. we were very disappointed. also the food is way to over priced and i would not expect that place to last more than a week. not even one star. the service was not bad at all but it was not a welcoming atmosphere and the manager defiantly made us feel uncomfortable. we will defiantly not be going back.

iWe went to this winebar with friends....The bar was way to bright and there was no MUSIC!! We found the manager to be very rude and unaccomadating and the food is overpriced for a place in Ambler.....We will not go back......very disappointing.e., A local favorite, or highly recommended because

Initial report card (6/19 at 9.30 PM): noisy; slow service with a capital S; good NY strip steak; inedible pork chop and miscellaneous plate fillers; and outrageously expensive. Overall, a recipe for impending failure. (The architecture is appealing, though!).

I am very impressed with this restaurant. I was at opening night and experienced the delays listed by other reviewers but this was purely 'first night" jitters. I have been several times since and the food was delivered promptly and courteously every time. The menu is interesting and ambitious, and the wine list will cater to both the beginner and the true aficionado. Dettera even has an outdoor eating area which I would take advantage of if it ever stopped raining! This place definitely gets busy and loud on the main floor - if you're making a reservation ask for an upstairs table. Enjoy!

My girlfriend and I went opening night to check the place out. I didn't expect it to be so busy, and neither did the restaurant. The food orders were very backed up, but drink orders were fine. Our food order ended up being lost in the chaos so our check ended up being free. For their first night I think they did an ok job. I'm sure within a week they'll be on the ball and there won't be any problems. I do suggest trying them out though. The wine was good, and so was the food. The staff was very helpful and apologetic. Just don't be so quick to judge the place after going there once on their opening night. I see potential.

My husband I attended opening night and were very excited about this new restaurant. We ordered drinks, two salads, a crab cake and burger. After 1 hour and 40 minutes we had been served only drinks and our salads. After kindly speaking to our waiters (2 of them) and a manager, we said we would wait 5 more minutes since they insisted it was coming. Perhaps they didn't screw up anyone else's order, but the food didn't come in the 5 minutes. We left $60 on the table (I told my husband that was way too much), and then we left. I hope that things will improve, it's a beautiful restaurant and a nice menu, but we won't be trying it again for awhile.
