I will never take my pet there again I love my dog but I do agree you better have credit cards, saving account, when you walk through the door its all about the almighty dollar with theses people have no compassion what so ever they would have put my dog down for an extra buck. Oh and as my vet said Why??????? They better go back to school.
We had to rush our pet here due to an unforeseen emergency. The vet was very compassionate and did everything she could to help our dog. Unfortunately they could not save her but they did everything they could to make her more comfortable and were very empathetic when she passed. They even sent us a sympathy card.
To all the staff at Small Animal Clinic, I thought I would be saying goodbye too my best friend way too early. This dog I treat as my son is my companion, my best friend. You guys see the love of every owners pet and treat them like they were your own, you guys were so professional, great at explaining everything, not just assuming or thinking what might be wrong but spent 2 1/2 days making sure the problem was fixed and not sending him home just because. I owe everyone a great appreciation and Jacque is doing well and I know is grateful to be home... Too my hero's JACQUE & CHRIS

I read the previous review and could not disagree more. This person seemed to be only worried about finances. Now, I understand pets are expensive, but I have been to this clinic twice in the last year, and even though the outcome of both visits was not what I'd hoped for, I have NO complaints with these people.I lost one of my dogs back in December, 2009, and Dr. Ballinger and staff could not have been more compassionate and helpful to me. My latest trip was few days ago (June 2010), where I presented my dog with a tremendous intestine obstruction which ultimately lead to her being euthanized. Dr. Ballinger explained every issue to me, and gave me all the options (there were few) that I had. He was the utmost professional, and was so kind to my dog and me. Yes, he told me about all the expenses, but I tend to take better care of my animals than myself. When it comes to my family, cost will never be an object. These are very fine people. I will always recommend them.Kelly Holcomb

I can only recommend that if you have lots of money to pay up front or don't care about your animals life or death situation that you do not take your emergecy veterinarian needs to this clinic. From recent experience, they have a horrible bed-side manner, and will not work with on payment schedule. Having to pay up front for an emergency to me just spells ridiculous. Not every person has large sums of money to pay directly out of pocket to "emergency" clinics. Perhaps they should lower their prices or allow payment plans. If not, someone else should definately think about opening another animal emergency clinic where middle class people can take their "best friends" to receive immediate and loving care from respectable veterinarians and associates. Once again, I highly recommend finding another place to take your animals for complete and accurate care. This business on 4119 Business Park Drive, Amarillo, TX 79110 is horrible and ridiculous and uncaring.
