  On August 20, 2024, Judge Ada Brown of the Dallas Division of the Northern District of Texas held that the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) new rule regarding employee non-compete agreements was not legally promulgated and was set aside.  The FTC’s Rule, which was set to take effect on September 4, 2024, banned new non-compete agreements and mandated that existing agreements with employees other than “senior executives” were unenforceable.

• Power of Attorney
  Texas provides detailed rules for taking care of minors and incapacitated adults who are unable to take care of themselves physically and/or financially. The first step in the process is an application that must be completed and filed with the court. The application will contain factual information pertaining to the proposed ward and the circumstances leading up to the guardianship proceeding. Additionally, the applicant must explain to the court that alternatives to guardianship were evaluated, and determined not feasible.
