- Identity TheftBefore entering private practice, Frank served for nearly seven years as an Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tampa, Florida. As part of that Office’s Criminal Division (Economic Crimes Section and Special Victims Section), he led investigations, prosecutions, and trials of numerous violations of the United States Code, including money laundering and illegal monetary transactions; wire, mail, access-device, bank, and health care fraud; RICO; environmental crimes; aggravated identity theft; human trafficking; civil rights offenses; terrorism hoaxes; and child exploitation offenses. Before joining the Criminal Division, Frank served for one year in the Office’s Appellate Division, where he authored appellate briefs in direct appeals, conducted oral argument in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and coordinated the Office’s district-wide response to post-conviction litigation.
- Money LaunderingWhile at the United States Attorney’s Office, Michael specialized in prosecutions and investigations involving sophisticated international and domestic money laundering and FCPA cases. Michael was selected to be part of a newly created group targeting money laundering and foreign corruption. His cases covered the world. ranging from cases involving corrupt officials in Venezuela, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. and extending to large scale financial investigations involving European banks and foreign nationals. He was lead prosecutor in some of the highest profile, largest money laundering and FCPA prosecutions in the history of South Florida. In one case alone, Michael’s prosecution of the former treasurer of Venezuela resulted in a one-billion-dollar forfeiture, one of the largest forfeiture amounts ever ordered.

- Sexual HarassmentMartha’s responsibilities as an Investigator with the UN (from 2007 to 2012) consisted of leading international internal investigations of serious fraud in contracts with vendors, corruption of national government officials, sexual harassment, and sexual exploitation and abuse of children in UN peacekeeping missions. Martha investigated and pursued disciplinary actions against UN officials in several countries in Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia. In addition, Martha assisted foreign peacekeeping contingent troops to conduct investigations of military misconduct in the pursue of court-martial proceedings by appropriate national authorities.

As an Assistant County Attorney, Michael was the trial attorney on a wide variety of civil cases and trials in federal and state court, including tort cases, medical malpractice, section 1983 civil rights cases and employment cases where he represented numerous County departments, including the Miami Dade Fire Department, Building Department, and the Port of Miami. Michael drafted appellate briefs and conducted several successful oral arguments before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Florida Third District Court of Appeal.
