Due to the move we have to switch our daycare that we grew to love so much. The least I can do is to leave a review so maybe some other kiddos will get so lucky to be a part of it.
One of the least expensive daycares in Pasadena (Prices in 2017: $375-$895) Trust me, I've looked. It's "one of the best kept secrets" in the area - very few people know about it, so it is pretty much recommendation based.
A PONY, 3 GOATS, a BUNNY and a DUCK!
It's like a little farm! Children can feed and pet the animals and on occasions even ride a pony (with a helmet on, of course lol)
BIG PLAYGROUND
Spacious and Green backyard with swings, slides, scooters, cars, tricycles and trees. It is located on a very quite little street in Altadena.
TEACHERS
Here is a little story. My daughter got expelled from the fancy and way more expensive Montessori San Marino pre-school at age of 2y8mo. I was told i needed to hire an additional person to shadow her while she is in the daycare! What?! What am I paying you for? In Children's Country House never have I ever heard teachers complain about her behavior. And I know she requires a lot of attention. Maybe a little more than others. Teachers just did their job. In 8 months of being in Montessori San Marino she learned 2 words: "look" and "bye". Only 1 week in Children's Country House - and my daughter was counting to 10! Her english has improved quickly and drastically. Teachers here speak clear english to children. They discuss with kids every little thing: whatever toy they bring in the morning, whatever patterns and colors they are wearing that day, whatever activity they choose to do while playing outside. The best part is that I feel like the teachers are genially interested in communicating with children. A good teacher is a calling from birth. And they are Very good.
My daughter is always excited to go to her daycare and takes a long time to be ready to leave in the evenings. This worth more than a thousand words.

a unique experience

Children's Country House is located on the first floor of a big old house in Altadena. The "playground" is really a big yard. Along with the usual swings, slides, climbing structures and trikes, there is an outdoor environment, which features trees and animals. When I was there, the children were happily exploring the yard, finding "pretty rocks" and worms, and conversing with the pony. The teachers were there to offer more organized activities when the children needed some direction.

Inside the classrooms, the shelves are filled with books, art supplies, blocks, and toys. There are centers used during classtime which encourage learning in many areas: math, science, language...

They serve a hot lunch; a menu is posted on the board. Music and/or dance classes are offered.

Parents are welcome to visit at any time. Children are signed in and out each day and are greeted warmly at the door.

The children have a comfortable relationship with the teachers and director. Teachers are well trained. The director has earned a PhD in Education and is very knowledgeable and approachable if you have questions or concerns.

Children feel free to explore and learn on their own, with guidance from the teachers. I feel they are well prepared for continuing education and are enthusiastic about learning.

The right choice

I have two older kids so i been down the road of searching for the perfect preschool. went it came down to looking for a preschool for my youngest daughter we had alot of choices. But one was the perfect choice for my child. The way the childrens country house is run is just perfect for any kid. And the teachers are so caring I could go on but let me just tell you. It not going to be a decision that you are going to be sorry. you and your child would love been a part of the country house family.
