Reviews
This review is mainly about the groomer at Petco. The store is the same as any other pet store chain, overpriced but convenient. We had been taking our cocker spaniel to this groomer for about 3 years (He is 3 and a half). About 10 months ago, we took him in and they shredded 2 of his paw pads when they were cutting his hair. We told them about it, they apologized, and we thought that everything was fine.Fast forward to yesterday, and we went to take our dog in for a bath and haircut. We called in to schedule, and they called back to confirm the day before. No mention of any issues, and we had heard nothing during any of his previous visits since they cut his paws.We got there, and when we went to drop him off the manager told us there was a new policy, and our dog had been marked as a vicious dog. Evidently every visit previous they had been muzzling him (which we had not been informed of), and the manager told us we might have to go and get him sedated (and told us what vet to go to, because I'm totally going to take my dog to a vet recommended by a groomer that can't control a 35lb cocker spaniel, who is not aggressive at home). My girlfriend offered to stay and hold him, and they declined. They said they would call if they needed help and she could come in and hold him.We dropped him off, perturbed. About an hour later we got a call to come pick him up, that he was "uncontrollable" and "vicious", and that he was a danger to himself because of his age (??? He's 3. Is that a thing?). We picked him up, we were told we could not return, and we went to a different store and bought clippers and finished grooming him at home. No problems whatsoever. If you're looking for someplace to take your dog to get groomed and plan on using them long term (which is suggested because then the dog is comfortable with the groomer) I suggest looking elsewhere. My experience indicates they will do something to traumatize your dog, and then blame the dog when it reacts negatively.
Petco itself is an okay pet store, but the picture people are LESS than professional. They tell you you'll get your pictures within a time limit and that time never comes. I went July 7, 2012 to get my puppy's pictures taken and it's August 4, 2012 and I haven't even SEEN them. I called and spoke with the "Customer Relations Coordinator" and she said she'd get back to me on Tuesday. All i want is to get my baby's pictures back. I'm VERY disappointed.
I shop at Petco quite often as they have a good selection of products for my pets. I especially love this particular store for their service. The service representatives are incredibly friendly and helpful in finding things and they all seem to make a special effort to make sure the customer has been well taken care of. The store is very clean, the shelves are well stocked but if something is not out that I'm looking for, they will look to help me find it. All the other Petco stores in this area are great, but the people in this store make it shine! I love to shop here!!! KB Hill...A Happy Lehigh Street Petco Customer

Over the past three months, I've visited the aquariums section of this Petco location a number of times and have gotten excellent customer service and expert advice every time. I've been stocking two new home aquariums. The fish that I've purchased at this Petco have been healthy and beautifully-conditioned, and not a single one has died or become sick. Staff have been prompt and courteous, and each one I talked with has been very knowledgeable and obviously interested in the fish, plants and products they sell. (They all seemed to be home aquarium enthusiasts themselves.) The fish tanks are clean and well-maintained. The plants I've purchased have done less well-than the fish, but this may have to do with my lighting conditions. At least they didn't come with snails attached, as have some plants I've bought from other retailers. I definitely recommend this store!

The staff are great and enthusiastic to help you in all the questions you have. The reptile section looks clean and taken with great care. However, the fish are a totally different story. The fish are always sick or look healthy and when you take them home they get sick. I bought around 20 goldfish/koi from there fro my pond and ALL of them died within two weeks of getting them besides one. I went back after they all died, and saw that the two tanks were under observation! Also, the goldfish always look unhealthy and half of the koi as well. I went there one time and they had a quarter of the tank's koi dead, and the others really sick or about to be sick. That tank was still for sale! Don't buy fish from here! Otherwise, the staff are awesome and the other sections look clean and well presented.
