General Info
The overall mission of Agape' Youth Homes is to provide a safe, nurturing and empowering living environment that promotes life skill development. We are a non-profit Group Home that provides community living arrangements for pre-adolescent males experiencing difficulties at home, in school or in the community. Our approach to placement is solution-focused and sees the residential placement as a time for growth and experimentation with new behavior in a positive, supportive and healthy environment. Agape' aim is to provide care in a home-like environment for youth male 8-15yrs old until they can return to their families or a long term alternative living is achieved. Agape's role is to protect and promote the health and welfare of children and nurture their overall growth and development, including their physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs. Physical and basic care includes Accommodation in a home like environment where the atmosphere is intended to be similar to that of an ordinary family unit. Our Mission guides our efforts to identify, strengthen and expand support systems in preparation of successful re-entry into family, school and community of origin, as appropriate. Agape' Youth Homes will enhance self-esteem by raising self-awareness, increasing social competence and by learning valuable problem-solving skills. We demonstrate an on-going understanding of specific behavioral problems and effectively work at appropriating proven techniques that improve levels of personal competence and social competence. We are a non-profit organization that welcomes referrals from all over the community for individuals 8 - 15 years of age with emotional, mental or behavioral health diagnosis, in accordance with DSMD IV, displaced from their homes. All residents will participate in the Allentown School District for adequate, appropriate and meaningful educational services according to their treatment plan developed by the referring agency. Agape' Youth Homes is also affiliated with Community Treatment agencies like: * Primary Care Physician * Mental Health Services (treatment plan specified) * Recreational (treatment plan specified).
