The Community Action Health Center offers a range of services for individuals and families. It provides assistance in the areas of mental health and substance abuse. The center also offers lab, pharmacy, immunization, radiology, diagnosis and treatment services. The Community Action Health Center provides screening for various communicable diseases and cancer. It is operated by the Community Action Corporation of South Texas, which was established in 1971, and offers early childhood intervention, health, housing, clinical and senior citizen services. The Community Action Corporation of South Texas administers the Energy Assistance Program, which includes energy conservation workshops, payment of utility bills, and repair and replacement of heaters, air conditioners, refrigerators and water heaters. The agency is located in Alice, Texas.
